This episode has an interesting spin to it as BoJack realizes he is paying for an unwanted newspaper subscription. As he calls the company they expectantly try to convince him to keep his subscription, but he keeps getting transferred to the next “higher-up”. As the “higher-up” is trying to convince him to keep the subscription he ends up telling his whole story almost like a psychiatrist talking about all of his affairs. In this episode, Todd also sets up a company like Uber but focusing on the safety of women.
This episode does not pass the Bechdel test but, there are some signs of gender recognition in this episode. The “higher-up” of the company is actually a woman and she appears to be the head of the company which represents the glass ceiling we talked about earlier in class. Also, Todd’s company is basically safe for females Uber, by having only female drivers, but to make it comedic Todd thinks it’s a good idea to add male drivers. Still, it is recognizing the issue and making it more obvious to the public.
