This episode of New Girl is when we start to see Schmidts “feminine side” that continues throughout the show. In this episode he is seen wearing his kimono on a Friday night and the boys start making fun of him. He is seen breaking stereotypical roles for a “man.” He then sticks up for his kimono by repeating the history and culture behind the fashion. This is another example of him breaking the stereotype of men are strong and don’t care what they wear. Later in this episode, Schmidt is seen trying to win over a girl named CeCe. When he does this he runs out of his room and starts doing “parkour” to show his masculinity side that he is strong, assertiveness and leadership. Then later when CeCe wakes up in Schmidts bed he runs and starts doing sit ups, again showing his dominance and strength.
