This is an ad for L’oreal and their campaign to create awareness for gender inequality in Germany.

Sex Role Perspective

The ad pictured above is one of three that create awareness about giving more women leadership roles. It resists stereotypical feminine traits just with the whole purpose of the ad: to show men that women can be leaders instead of followers that stand there and look pretty.

The ad does not even have a woman in it. It uses the products to show men what having women in leadership positions can do. It is a very powerful statement that has a large effect when seen.

Gaze Theory

This ad literally said “This is an Ad for Men”. The ad acknowledges that feminine ads usually are geared towards men, and they used it wisely to create an impact. They used the typical male gaze against males to get their attention for an important cause.
