This love song by Jason Aldean is mainly about how blessed and happy he is that he found the love of his life. Throughout the song, it talks about how he waited and had been looking for a special someone. This song surprisingly does not have many specific masculine or feminine stereotypes due to the base of the lyrics and story.

Masculine Stereotypes

  • “You keep me comin’ back for more”
    • Oftentimes people will say it’s stereotypical for men, when they find the one, to always be willing to drop everything for her. This lyric implies that the male can’t get enough of this girl which is why he always goes back to her.
  • “…You’re all that I want, When you’re lyin’ here in my arms”
    • This lyric can be seen as stereotypical because of how the male artist can feel when he is holding the woman he loves. In this picture, men can often have protective feelings towards the girl they love.

When taking a deep look at these song lyrics, it’s safe to say that this song by artist Jason Aldean does not fit many stereotypes associated with country music. With no mention of trucks, beer, or girls in the sense that they are just objects I would say it’s a non-stereotypical country song. The fact that the song lyrics focus on the love the male artist has for his girl and his feelings makes it unique.
