CHARACTERISTIC OF A COUNTRY SONG sung by a man
- Women
- Love
- Drinking
OVERVIEW
Sung by Jake Owen. The song in English means Miss. The song is literally named after a woman. It is about how he goes on vacation and in the end, he falls in love and he wants to stay in this vacation mode for the rest of his life. I would be using the Sex-Role Theory to find examples of femininity traits throughout the song.
Femininity examples throughout the song
Affectionate
Senorita, yes, I need ya; On my lips like a shot of tequila” He needs her, he doesn’t just want her that is not enough. Then he goes and compares her to a shot of tequila, which is stereotypical of a country song to compare a woman to an object.
Loyal
“You’re the only thing I’ve been looking at all night” He is singling her out and saying he only wants her and she is his only. This is a very loyal trait but could be seen as a pickup line where he says that to a lot of girls.
Loyal & Affectionate
“Mi Bonita, I can’t leave you” Mi Bonita means my beauty. He thinks that she is beautiful, and he can’t leave her because someone else might swoop in and steal her. This can be seen as controlling because he is saying that she is his, and not just beautiful but his beauty.
