In this episode, we shall see if it passes the Bechdel Test or not…
Are there women in the episode:
- Katara
Do the women talk to each other:
- No
Do they talk about something other than men:
- No
This episode didn’t pass the Bechdel Test which makes sense because we haven’t reached the part in the show where we have two main female characters that we get to see every episode and interact with each other. But this episode did have a very nice philosophical lesson and that we are all connected to each other, regardless of people that think we aren’t. Just like the giant tree in the swamp that has it’s roots stretched for miles, everyone is connected to each other by the same roots and we are all branches from the same tree so we should keep this in mind and start to take care of each other. Plus, another philosophical lesson is that time is an illusion and so is death. Even though the people we love aren’t here anymore on earth, we still remember them as if they were here which I believe is an important lesson for people to learn about.
