For my 8th entry I am analyzing the music video for “Too Much To Ask” by Niall Horan. In this music video Niall goes against many of the male stereotypes. Throughout this video Niall holds his body in a way that makes him not take up much space in the frame.  Must commonly sitting in a hunched position. He also does not look at the camera, this allows people to observe his actions and be able to guess his feelings better. This video is very quiet so he appears to soft spoken. This music video is also emotional so he is portrayed as being gentle, warm, sad, and slightly separated from what is going on around him.

In the ways he adheres to masculine stereotypes it mainly consists of the scenes where you see him with friends. While he spends much of the video observing what other people are doing the main focus of the video is clearly Niall. And he is also seen in a bar with his male friends in an attempt to make himself cheer up.

As far as gaze theory goes, this video is lacking all aspects of gaze theory. There is no sexualization or objectification of any individual present in this video.
