Bechdel Test: Pass or Fail?
- Are there at least TWO women?

- Princess Carolyn
- Do they talk to each other?
- NO!
- Do they talk about something other than a man?
- No…
Why did it Pass/Fail?
- This episode either had Diane or Princess Carolyn in a particular scene. It completely revolved around BoJack and his wedding crasher schemes. This episode definitely fails the Bechdel test; there wasn’t one instance where the only two female characters in the episode were talking to each other.
Other themes noticed:
- Princess Carolyn is at a bar and is wanting to have fun. At one point, she screams, “someone buy me a drink!!” That is definitely something that is said by more females than males at bars. Personally, I have never seen guys ask girls to buy them drinks. However, I have seen a LOT of women at bars seduce and flirt with men just so they can get free drinks. Just something I noticed as the episode was playing!
- The whole episode is only about BoJack trying to cancel the wedding of Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane, but every time he tries to do something, the wedding moves more forward and forward. Like I mentioned before in previous posts, this show focuses on the extremes men go through just to get a girl! BoJack even staged a bank robbery just to try and postpone their wedding.
