In 2007 both Putin and Bush were entering their second year as presidents and relationships between the US and Russia were becoming a topic of conversation yet again.
Time Magazine said that Putin “ Is extremely intelligent, very focused on the subject under discussion and very familiar with the issues in foreign policy. He does not try to sweep you away with personal charm. It is a combination of aloofness, considerable intelligence, strategic grasp and Russian nationalism.”
The adjectives used in the article are of masculine nature, something present in the cover as well. In the cover we can see a straight face, staring directly at the reader with no emotion. All these masculine characteristics appear to show what a president should be, according to Putin.
