This episode sees Christina Yang help Meredith who becomes sick during work at the hospital. Throughout the episode, she also tries to encourage her boyfriend Preston Burke who is getting his hand and arm checked out to see if he is ready to return to work after having surgery.

Christina Yang primarily showed feminine traits during this episode. In the beginning of the episode, after Meredith becomes ill, Christina does an examination on her to try to figure out what is wrong. By doing this she is showing feminine traits by being caring and compassionate. She also shows her sensitive side when caring for and trying to motivate her boyfriend Preston Burke. This is another feminine trait.

In class we recently talked about queer representation, which is when a character shows undefined or paradoxical gender or sexual identities. In this episode, there is no queer representation. All of the characters are clearly attracted to the opposite gender, and their genders are all clearly defined and they all depict “normal” gender roles.
