CHARACTERISTIC OF A COUNTRY SONG sung by a man

  • Women
  • Love

OVERVIEW

Sung by Tim McGraw. This song represents how his woman is the person he was next to him driving. He only wants her there and no one else can fill that spot. You can tell how he loves and respects this woman. He loves to sing and hold each other hands as they are driving, and no one else could make him feel that way. I will be using the Sex-Role Theory to pull out some femininity traits examples throughout the song.

Femininity examples throughout the song

            Affectionate

“Don’t matter long as I’ve got your love”

“No other shotgun rider, beside me, singin’ to the radio, Woohoo Oh O” Both of these lyrics show you how much she is praised for being her. That he loves her so much that he doesn’t want anyone else there. He only needs her love to be happy. This is very stereotypical for a country song.

            Loyal

“you’re my shotgun rider”

“Dream, life ain’t nothing but a dream, don’t wanna be; Cruisin’ through this dream without you” Going off the first two examples these two show the loyal that he has for this woman. There is each other person and he could never see another else being there in that moment in the seat.
