This commercial opens on what looks like a perfect city with a male narrator taking us through the ad. This already is troubling because men are usually seen as being in control, dominant and leading the way and here is a commercial with a male narrator walking us through. It plays into that stereotype right away that more people will listen because people tend to listen to men over women hence male narrator. The opening scene is talking about making a difference helping to make a change and we see a male picking up garbage hence being that change. This again is a male leading the cause and not a women because men are seen as leaders and women are seen as followers. In the next scene we see a women meditating in the woods listening to yoga tell her there is no try so here we again see even though a women is in this seen she is being told what to do by a man. Then we jump to a scene of a man designing shoes which plays into the stereotype that men are more creative, also that this man has such a high valued job that he is making shoe designs at adidas instead of a women. Lastly we have a scene with a women lying in the grass modeling with a sunflower as the sun shines down on her face. This is looking at her beauty instead of her doing something important in this commercial she is just there to model with a flower. This is showing how females tend to like flowers more, model, take pictures with flowers, lay in the grass, and look at the sun. In this ad we mostly see the men actually doing things while the women tend to be just sitting and listening or staring at the sky.
