Are there women in the episode:

  • Suki
  • Azula
  • Mai
  • Ty Lee

Do the women talk to each other:

  • Suki and Azula talk to each other

Do they talk about something other than men:

  • Suki and Azula are talking to each other as enemies since the Warriors of Kyoshi are trying to defend Appa since he was stolen from Team Avatar. Plus Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee are trying to find Aang so finding his bison means that they could find Aang

This time, I watched one of the more interesting episodes of the show because it follows around Appa and his journey after being stolen by some thieves. The reason it was interesting is that the main character of this show can’t speak, but he has different interactions with characters that he met throughout his journey. But during these interactions, we still do have this episode passing the Bechdel Test with Suki and Azula talking to each other. Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee are chasing after Team Avatar and they were tracking Appa by his shedded fur, but once they found that Appa is alone, they were going to capture him and use him to make Aang come and save him. But Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors are trying to save Appa because they know how important he is to helping the Avatar and their job is to serve the Avatar. But one thing that is interesting about this episode is the quantity of men to women that played important roles as well as the quality of the roles they played. There were a ton of women that were shown in this episode as well as the roles they played in the episode plus the entire show to this point. Suki has helped Team Avatar multiple times throughout the series and now she and the Kyoshi Warriors are helping Appa so that he can get back to Aang. Then you have Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee who are villains to Team Avatar and how they have been in major roles for the Fire Nation in their conquest of the world.
