The thirteenth female artist I will be looking at is Camila Cabello. She is known for her Pop and R&B music. Her number one song on Spotify is Havana featuring Young Thug.

Stereotypes

In this music video, Camila Cabello is seen watching a romance and drama filled telenovela. This genre and types of shows are typically seen as more feminine styled shows, and it is stereotyped as a woman’s show since it is about love.

Women are seen throughout the music video wearing revealing and provocative clothing. These clothings are chosen for the male gaze. Along with revealing clothing, the women are zoomed in on by the cameras. Their hips and legs are paid close attention to and can be seen taking up the entire screen at points. This also goes along with the male gaze and objectification.

The final stereotype that has been in many other music videos, is viewed when Young Thug is singing up on a stage while Camila is dancing sexually on the dance floor. Her hip movements are zoomed in on multiple times and Young Thug just stands on the stage watching her dance. This goes with the stereotype that women are for the male gaze and for their entertainment.
