The next Justin Bieber song I will be analyzing is “Come Around Me” from his Changes album which was released in 2020.  This song provides both feminine and masculine stereotypical traits. The theory I will be using to analyze this song is the sex-role perspective theory.

“When you come around me
Treat me like you miss me
Even though you been with me
When you come around me
Do me like you miss me
Even though you been with me”

This is an example of feminine stereotypical traits. These lyrics describe the trait of being sensitive to others’ needs and loyal. Bieber is wanting the woman to be sensitive to his needs and treat him like she has been gone even though have been together the whole time. This also shows that the woman is loyal to Bieber since they spend so much time together.

“When I rise up
Baby don’t shy up
Open your mind
Don’t knock it ’til you try it, darling
Show off
When you come closer
Don’t waste no time
I love it when I’m in it, shawty”

These lyrics are an example of stereotypically masculine traits. The traits that describe these lyrics are leadership ability and competitiveness. Biber is stating that he is good enough to rise up from anything and that the woman should not be afraid to do the same to be dominant like Bieber. Bieber is showing that men are able to be independent and overcome anything sent their way.
