This year, Time Magazine chose Barack Obama as their Person of the year mostly due to their trend to nominate the new President.

There are plenty of ways in which the article describes Obama, with adjectives like “Obama is a businesslike boss”, “soothing monotone voice”, “he gets things done”. All of masculine nature, showing this clear statement on what a president should be.

The cover is a mix of both femenine and masculine features in most magazine covers. While the colors are considered more masculine, same with the clothing choice. The choice of the smile and eyes looking away is a common femenine cover theme, since you are inviting someone to look in.

This cover became perhaps the most popular for Time magazine, as it spawned plenty of similar style art to appear around the world.
