After a bad year for the economy of the United States, Time magazine chose Ben Bernanke, the federal reserve chairman who managed to stop the economy from getting worse.

While the article is written in a positive light for Bernanke, it starts off by showing how different he is from the usual powerful men stereotype seen in most high power positions.  “He isn’t a mesmerizing speaker. He has none of the look-at-me swagger or listen-to-me charisma so common among men” “He’s shy” “Ben Bernanke is a nerd. He just happens to be the most powerful nerd on the planet”

There are also mentiones of him being proffesional and grounded, which are more commonly masculine, and the cover agrees with that. As seen, portrayed as a bill with a serious face, beard and suit, this a clearly trying to show a masculine person. The only thing that could be considered femenine would be the eyes, that not only are looking away instead of at the reader, but are drawn to show lots of emotion.
