Function Ranking/Relative Size
- The largest three characters on the screen are both men and women. Black Widow is given an executive role along with Steve and Nick Fury, and she is given a weapon and tactical outfit to wear in collaboration with the characters. She is to be taken seriously as an assassin in the poster, and not as a happy-go-lucky female.
Ritualization of Subordination
- Again, the female fighters in the MCU must not be a fan of high necklines! Black Widow’s jacket is unzipped to show cleavage.
- She is also posed in a very odd way, her knees locked together as she walks towards the camera and her hips jutted out to one side. The poster tries to show her walking with some sort of sexuality to her, in comparison to the determination and seriousness that the men on the poster are displaying in their body language.
Licensed Withdrawal
- The main character of the poster is looking directly at the camera, while Nick Fury is looking slightly towards him. Black Widow is given an odd angle to face towards, so she has the most licensed withdrawal on the poster. Along with her body language, she is made the most apparent character to gaze upon in the poster.
