The Super Bowl ad for Anheuser Busch is one that provides us with a diverse representation of what it means to ‘grab a beer’. It is important to note that a lot of what we see appears like a disrupted gender representation. Specifically, the ad features multiple working professional females being seen as normal for wanting to either go out for a beer after work or for wanting to enjoy one with their coworkers. Regardless of the case, this is something that a lot of men aren’t particularly used to seeing. Notably, there was one instance within the ad in which the woman seems hesitant at first to reach out for a Budweiser, this is until her male counterpart has assured her that she’s earned it. All of this aside, the reality of it remains that the stereotype revolving around what women drink when they are going for an alcoholic beverage is in contrast to what is being portrayed in the ad.
