The advertisement starts with a bunch of office workers going into the elevator on Monday dreading work when one of the workers in the back of the elevator says “no worries man everything will be all right” with a Jamaican accent. The man continues throughout the day in the office with this type of attitude giving people positive words and good attitude. Then cuts to another day with the boss and another worker telling a man outside trying to yell at them that they were all late for work by three minutes, to smile and that everything will be all right well they park in their Volkswagen all together. This advertisement presents gender roles within the workplace especially. The way the lead actor greets and talks to different genders in the workplace is clearly different. The only thing that he said directly to a woman was to smile whereas when he talks to other men in the work area it’s all on facts and information and of course positive reinforcement that isn’t subjected to their looks. But that being said there is another scene of both female and male genders presented where he says that the room needs a smile. Overall, this says a lot about the general office job and how women and men are presented in these jobs. there were far more men than women the boss was a man there were only two women presented within the entire advertisement and the leading man was a tall strong looking attractive man wearing a button down in tie.
