Popular investing app, Robinhood aired an ad that adds to our knowledge as individuals in regards to our subjectivity and our identity. For one, the basis of the advertising campaign is that we are often not seeing ourselves as investors, when the reality is every decision we make is considered an investment. To go a bit further, seeing ourselves as an investor contributes to the way that we interact with our culture, thus contributing to our overall subjectivity. Changing gears to discussing some of the ways this ad contributes to our identity, the ad notes that diversifying our interests is just one of the ways we are investors by definition. Our interests are a component of our self and personal identity, tying them in with the fact that we are all investors makes a contribution to the way we see ourselves.
